I wrote this song for an outdoor wedding (my own). It's upbeat and happy and, since the ceremony was supposed to be outdoors, I was thinking of the music in the old cowboy TV shows when I wrote the chord progression. I should come up with a better title because it really isn't about cowboy weddings, but all my wedding songs are really prayers of promise and thanksgiving, so what do I do? Just call them all the same name and add Roman numerals to the end? That would be boring and I'd never know which song we were talking about...
Cowboy Wedding Prayer
Words & Music by Peg Miller © 2009
Verse 1:
We praise the Lord and thank Him for this day.
He brought us here, to witness a promise that we’ll make.
And we know, His love runs through our veins,
and He will guide our steps through all of our days.
Chorus:
You are my friend, I’m not alone,
You’re my companion and you’re my home.
Take my heart, accompany me,
And we will follow wherever He leads,
And I love you.............
Verse 2:
We praise the Lord and thank Him for our love.
All good things come from the One above.
He brought us here to this lovely place.
Where all creation shouts His Holy Name.

Chorus:
You are my friend, I’m not alone,
You’re my companion and you’re my home.
Take my heart, accompany me,
And we will follow wherever He leads,
And I love you.............
And I love you.............
And I love you.............
